imaging.jpgMedecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) is an independent international humanitarian medical aid organisation. It is committed to providing medical aid where it is most needed, regardless of race, religion, politics or gender and also to raising awareness of the plight of the people they help.

MSF was founded by doctors and journalists in 1971. In emergencies and their aftermath it operates hosptials and clinics and conducts a wide range of activities ranging from surgery, vaccination campaigns, feeding, mental care through to constructing wells, dispensing clean water and providing shelter. Equally, it gets involved in longer term care programmes such as tuberculosis, sleeping sickness and HIV/AIDS.

We chose to support this charity through competing in this race because it represents everything we, as a team, believe in and stand for - assistance offered on need alone. We represent different cultures, race, nationality and gender and we equally work predominantly within the medical field.
